Eagerly awaited after the failure of the Samsung Note 7, the new flagship 2017 of the Korean brand is a small concentrate of technology. With its super Amoled display with 5.8-inch size and a resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels, the GS8 just slightly exceeds the LG G6 and its 5.7-inch slab. On the technical side, it features a Samsung Exynos 8895 octocore chip clocked at 2.3 GHz. At the rear, the Samsung S8 offers a sensor of 12 mpx and 8 mpx at the front. The version of the OS is Android 7.0 Nougat. As for the aesthetic side: its Infinity Display, its new shape factors and its compact appearance (although slightly longer than its predecessor, the Galaxy S7) offer a very refined and futuristic design. It makes it one of the best Smartphone on the market.
Small downside to all these technical feats: the fragility of its screen. Indeed, after many customer feedback and a few tests from consumer associations (such as UFC-Que Choisir), the slab of the Samsung Galaxy S8 is more fragile than its competitors. After having subjected it to a lot of tests (including many falls), the verdict was without appeal. The GS8 is much less resistant and has revealed crevices on the screen and large cracks in the back. For comparison, the iPhone 7 & Huawei P9 had only a few scratches. The associations therefore incite to equip the Galaxy S8 of a protective cover.
